About

Conceptualized and designed by sisters Rida and Farva, Food Across Borders was born in Summer2010. Born and raised in Pakistan, we have spent the last decade between New York, Boston, London and Colombo.

Having grown up in a culture where food plays a central role in linking generations and structuring social interaction, we believe food is all about belonging and is reflective of people, places and traditions. Through this blog we hope to explore the connections between history, culture and food as well as showcase culinary experiences from cities we have lived in and traveled to and those we have met on this journey.

Simply put, this is a food “experience” blog – a collection of our culinary experimentations, thought pieces, food travelogues, food photography, restaurant reviews, and most importantly an expression of our love for cuisines from around the globe.

Happy reading, cooking and feasting!
